Baildon In Bloom: 'Grot Spots' PDF Print E-mail
Written by Joe Ashton

'Grot Spots'

Most 'grot spots' will either be owned by Bradford Council or privately owned.  Usually problems on either type of land can be resolved.  Occasionally it is not clear whose responsibility the land is; in cases such as this, the Committee will aim to resolve the situation through enquiry and may decide to adopt the land if this is appropriate.

How can you help to eliminate 'grot spots'...?

  • ATTEND BAILDON IN BLOOM PARTNERSHIP ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Officers from Bradford Council will be contributing.  Identification of 'grot spots' and how they can be improved will be discussed.

  • ATTEND YOUR LOCAL NEIGHBOURHOOD FORUM

The Open Forum item at all neighbourhood forums allows residents to raise miscellaneous issues.

  • REPORT A GROT SPOT

Send details of the location and problem(s) to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

If the problem(s) is any of the following, please contact Bradford Metropolitan District Council directly and then let Baildon In Bloom Committee have a copy of your letter / e-mail and details of the Council's reply.  It is quicker and easier to contact the Council directly, as these issues are the generally responsibility of the district authority and not of Baildon In Bloom Committee.

Follow the instructions at  www.bradford.gov.uk

  1. Overgrown hedge/vegetation onto a public highway or byway
  2. Problem in a children's play area
  3. Overflowing litter-bin
  4. Weeds in a public highway or byway
  5. Fly-tipping
  6. Cracked / uneven paving stones
  7. Litter / rubbish in a public area, park or garden
  8. Broken walls or railings

You may also wish to send your district and/or parish councillor(s) a copy of the report.  If the problem(s) persists or is not dealt with during the said time, you may wish to inform your district and/or parish councillor(s) who may be able to help.

Your councillors are as follows:
