Sponsorship
PLANTERS
Half-barrel tubs
Half-barrels can be sponsored by businesses or members of the public; a plaque will be fitted if this is desired by the sponsor, primarily for a business to advertise itself. For existing barrels, the cost is £50 per annum and the money will be used to pay for the upkeep of the feature in question, with summer and winter bedding schemes.
Baildon In Bloom Committee is keen to install more planters. Where a planter needs to be newly bought, the cost of this will be added to the sposnorship in the first year only. This is usually between £15 and £20.
Half-barrels are currently located at:
- Northgate (4)
- Towngate (2)
- Browgate (2)
- Westgate (2)
- Springfield Road (2)
A further 3 barrels have been adopted by businesses and stand outside their premises.
Baildon In Bloom Committee hopes to install more half-barrels in the different neighbourhoods of Baildon on a rolling programme as time and money allow. Sponsorship of these is most welcome.
In addition to the planters in Baildon Village Centre, it is hoped, over time, to install barrels, other planters and/or other features at:
- Baildon Bridge
- Baildon Holmes
- Woodbottom
- Charlestown
- Tong Park
- Glenaire (4 installed)
- Trench (2 proposed)
- Baildon Green
- Ferniehurst
- Delph Head
- Threshfield
- Lane End
- Brackenhall Green
- Low Hill
- Brook Hill
Other planters
There are several other planters around Baildon that are maintained by Bradford Council. Baildon In Bloom Committee and Bradford Council are currently negotiating a system of sponsorship. Please contact Baildon In Bloom Committee if you are interested in this.
