Societies In Bloom

This year we have worked with four civic societies.

Baildon Community Council

The idea for Baildon In Bloom originated within the Community Council.  Since then the Community Council has supported the camapign by helping to allocate new benches across the parish and helping with the design and situation of the new boundary stones, as well as helping with fundraising and publicity.  The Community Council has heard regular updates from Baildon In Bloom Committee and as a result has helped to scrutinise and evaluate the projects undertaken so far.  Also, the Chair of the Community Council was invited to officially open the campaign; this was done in the Hall Cliffe Community Garden on 7th July 2007.

Baildon Carnival Committee

Baildon Carnival Committee kindly donated £500 to the campaign, which has been used to pay for the purchasing, planting and necessary fixings for the new hanging baskets in the Village Centre.

Baildon Flower Club

Baildon Flower Club kindly donated £100 to the campaign, which has been used to pay for the labour needed to install most of the new hanging baskets in the Village Centre; the others were fitted by volunteers from the Bradford Forest and Bradford Environmental Action Trust.

Baildon Men's Forum

Baildon Men's Forum made a generous donation earlier in the year, following a collection at one of its meetings.  This money was used to help with the redevelopment of the garden between the Bedlam Steps and the Moravian Steps, now known as the 'Bedlam Garden'.
