Dear People of Baildon,
I am greeting you as a new contributer to your web site. I am interested because my family originated in Baildon, though over the years the family has become very diversely spread.
My Great, great, great grandfather The Reverend John Bayldon was a vicar in Shipley in the early 18th century, his son then went to live in New Zealand, then his son went to Sout Africa as a Mining Engineer. My father was born in South Africa and I was born in 1938 in Kenya. I have a son in Hing kong, one in Chicago and a daughter in Melbourne Australia.
When she was alive my Great Aunt Feda Bayldon drew up a family tree based on her own research and work carried out by Mr Pailey Bayldon called Bai(y)ldons of Baildon.
Our family used to have a copy of the multi volume book but it has since been lost.
I am interested in the history of my family in the area and trying to establish how many Bayldons still may live in and around Baildon
Yours sincerely
Roger Bayldon
