There are lots of things happening in and around Baildon and letting people know about them can often be a difficult and time consuming task. If lots of people put the details of these events on the web site then more people will find the site useful and interesting. As a result it will be easier to reach people and let them know about what is going on.

There are several ways of making a contribution.

Add Event

The calendar is a very useful part of the site. It groups events into categories and allows visitors to the site to see what events are planned. Any registered member can add an event to the calendar. However, before the event becomes visible to all visitors it must be approved by a publisher.

There are several ways to get to the screen for adding an event, the simplest is to click on the Calendar option in the menu. The current month will then be displayed. Towards the top of the calendar you will see a red Add Event icon. Clicking on this displays the screen for creating an event. An alternative method it to find the day that the event occurs in the calendar and click on the small + sign that appears in the box for the day. This has the advantage of completing the date section for you. It is then a simple matter of completing the relevant sections and clicking on Add Event

Add an article

The main content of the website is arranged in Sections and Categories.
Use the menu to navigate to an area that you would like to see a new article and click on the New.... link. This will then allow you to enter the details of the article. Once you have clicked on the Save disk icon an administrator will be notified of the new article and it will be published in due course.

Another way of creating an article is to click on the Submit Content option in the user menu.

You will need to select a Section and a Category for the article.

Discussion Board

The Discussion Board, or Forum, can be a very useful and interesting part of the site

Use it to discuss things that are going on in Baildon. Have a look at the different sections within the forum.

Putting something on the forum is what is often called posting. You need to be a meber to be able to post.

Within the appropriate section you can post a new topic or respond/reply to a topic that is already there. There are also several formatting options available. If there is an existing comment that you want to respond to then you can click on the Quote option. This puts the text of the posting between tags. You can always click on the Preview to see what your posting will look like.

Contact Us

A simple way of making a contribution is to use the Contact Us option. This option allows you to type some text which will then be sent to the person you chose from the Contact list.

The person notified would then have to use the appropriate part of the site to create the content.
