Environment

This section is for categories and articles related to the environment. It will contain articles about what is happening in and around Baildon that are related to our enjoyment and use of Baildon. Such things as what is happening to our roads, rivers, footpaths and canals. How do we protect our environment so that we can continue to enjoy it?

More importantly how do we look after our environment so that it will sustain us? How do we cut down on our use of limited resources? How do we protect the world so that it is still here for our children?

  • Environment Actions  ( 5 items )

This category contains articles about what we can do for our environment. Most of us probably think we should be doing more for the environment, but how do we find out what we can do? How do we find out what actions can benefit the environment?

We are told of many things we can do that can save money and the environment, turning the thermostat down, adding insulation, using less water, stopping draughts, reducing the use of packaging, recycling, walking or cycling instead of driving, car pooling etc. But there are other things we can do that can cost a lot of money. Should it matter that it might not pay for itself in reduced heating bills if it saves half a tonne of Carbon Dioxide a year? Do we have to wait for grants from the Government before we put some of our own money into these schemes? Which are the best ones for pounds of Carbon Dioxide saved for pounds sterling spent?
