How to Register |
|
|
|
Written by Paul Marfell
|
|
To be able to contribute to the site you will need to register. Registering is quite simple but has one important requirement. You must have an email address.
If you do not have an email address then you will need to come back after you have an email address or it will be necessary for someone to create an account for you.
Registering
At the top left of the screen you should see a "Login" section with areas for entering a username and a password. Once you have registered you will have the details of what to enter in these boxes.
Below the login button you should see the active link "Register". Click on this word and you will be taken to a new Registration screen.
In the Registration screen you will need to provide four peices of information.
- Name - the name you want to be known by on the site.
- Username - this is the name that you will use to actually login to the site.
- E-mail address - this is what the site will use to communicate with you and is essential for being able to create your account.
- Password - you can specify your own password which will be used, along with your username to login to the site. You need to enter your password twice to make sure that it is entered correctly. The password will show as * so that it can not be read by other people who might be watching.
Once you have entered the information into these boxes click on "Send Registration". The system will then send an email to the address specified. In the email there will be a link that you must click on to activate your registration. It is therefore imperative that you specify a current email address so that you will recieve the email with the link to activate your account.
Once you have activated your account using the link in the email you will be able to return to the site and enter your username and password in the Login section of the screen.
You will now be able to contribute to the site. You will be able to "post" to the Discussion Board, create new articles for the site and submit new events for the Events Calendar.
