Welcome

Welcome to the Baildon Village web site where you will find lots of information of use and interest to those in and around Baildon. This site went live in June 2006 thanks to the Baildon Urban Village Initiative.

Baildon Heritage trails
Written by Paul Marfell

Unfortunately the demand for these booklets has been so great that the first print run has all gone. The demand has surprised those involved and another print run will not be possible until some time after the January meeting of the Parish Council. The library will still be the main source for the hard copies but please keep an eye on this website to see when they are next available.

You can still download versions from the Parish Council website here.

The first 6 Baildon Heritage Trails are now available. They will be available in several places but the best place to try is the library.

The Current Topic
Written by Paul Marfell

We need input from our visitors.

The web site is intended to help people find information about what goes on in Baildon. A great deal of information has been collected and entered but there is plenty of room for more. If you have any informtaion for the site please register and create a new article in the area concerned. Alternatively send the information to the administrators of the site. You can use the contact section or send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it If an organisation would like us to contact them periodically prompting them to let us have an update then please let us know.

I think it is a good idea if we focus on a particular subject at a time. As a starter let's work on details of the Faith Organisations of Baildon. We have excellent details for some of the churches but entries for some of the others is minimal. Are you a member of one of these churches where we have only a small entry? If so we need your help.

Have a look at the articles for the Moravian Church and the Methodist Church. It would be great if the other Faith Organisations had similar content.

Baildon Methodist Church

The article can be used to inform current members and to attract new members. It can also contain photos.

Topics can cover such headings as:

  • Ethos
  • Contact details
  • Location
  • Service times
  • Associated organisations and Clubs
  • History
  • Supported/Related charities

There is also the Calendar that can be used to publicise events.

If you want to see more details on the web site but are not able to enter or create it yourself please contact someone within the organisation who might have the information.

If someone from your organisation wants to take responsibility for this then they can be made an author. This would then allow them to keep the information up to date.
