Debbie Davies has resigned as Parish Councillor for Baildon South East after serving since the formation of the council in May 2007.
The Parish Council therefore has a vacancy. If any Baildon resident is interested in becoming a Parish Councillor please contact the clerk, Ruth Batterly on 01943605746, by email at

, or post to 11 Wharfedale Drive, lkley, West Yorks, S29 8QB.
If six residents sign the notices that have been put up in Baildon and there is more than one candidate then a election will be held. Alternatively the Parish Council will invite the candidates to a council meeting where hopefully a suitable person will be co-opted.

The two exploratory meetings for the Friends of Baildon Moor were really well attended which bodes well for the future of the group but also shows the concern felt by many about the future of Baildon Moor. After listening to Malcolm and Owen at the first meeting there was quite a lively discussion which highlighted to people the many and varied interests. It showed that there are potentially conflicting requirements that will take careful managing to reverse the deterioration of the Moor and protect it for future generations
The Friends have now formed their steering committee which will create the constitution and then hand over to a management committee who will take the group forwards.
If you are interested in becoming part of this feel free to contact Ruth Batterley the Parish Council Clerk at

She will then pass your details on to The Friends.
They should soon have their own web site where you will be able to make more direct contact.

The oak signs that were originally conceived as part of the Baildon Urban Village Initiative have been erected.
The signs sat in the Shipley Sign Shop for a while until Bernard Stone raised the issue and the Baildon Parish Council took on the responsibility for the signs
They were erected on 23rd April 2009.

They are selling a product that may have a function within a properly considered security plan but their sales technique leaves a lot to be desired. Speak to the local crime prevention officer if you have security concerns. For Baildon this is Adrian Foyston 01274 474777. Read more here.
